Snail Mail!

Mail Tips:

From what I’ve gathered, the Madagascar post is notoriously slow and unreliable. Here are a few tips to expedite the process and keep thievery to a minimum:

  • Use padded envelopes when possible
  • Write “Airmail” and “Par Avion” on all envelopes and packages
  • People steal expensive things. If you are asked to record the value of the items in the package, keep the value low—very low
  • Rumor has it that writing religious things on the envelope or package can deter mail raiders, i.e., “Father Jacob Morrin” or “God be with you”
